In 2020, FRHS Choirs were humbled to be invited to the Choirs of America Nationals for Top Choirs event at Carnegie Hall, New York City. Unfortunately, this trip was cancelled due to Covid. We are pleased to announce that we have once again been invited to participate for next year’s festival. We have begun the process of planning and research, and wanted to invite you to be a part of this process by helping us gather some preliminary data.

FRHS Choirs take an out of state special performance trip once every few years, and students in Sabercat Singers (Select Mixed Choir) and Vox Femina (Select Treble Choir) are invited to attend this trip this next school year. We are thrilled to have such an amazing opportunity available for our students, and honored to have received this achievement for our program.

20 choirs from multiple states have been chosen to be a part of this year’s event. The concert at Carnegie Hall has three facets that are very unique, and welcome you to read the details here. Our students will have the opportunity to work with some of the most influential choral conductors and composers, including Rollo Dilworth, Andrea Ramsey, Jason Max Ferdinand, Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, and Elaine Hagenberg. The musical experiences in this trip are at the forefront, and what can be considered “once in a lifetime”.

Not only will students have an incredible musical experience on this trip, they will also have time to see New York City! Here are some of the things we have already included in the trip:

  • Time to shop and visit Times Square

  • FRHS Choir private performance at St. Patrick’s Cathedral

  • 9/11 Museum

  • Ferry ride to see the Statue of Liberty

  • Time to explore Central Park, China Town, etc

Also, many of our students are excited about seeing shows on Broadway. Knowing that, we made sure to include not one, but TWO shows in their package! Many shows will be available in the upcoming year, and we will get student input about which shows they would like to see before obtaining tickets.

This trip also includes:

  • Roundtrip airline transportation from Denver to New York

  • $60 airline baggage fee for one checked bag roundtrip

  • Motorcoach transportation per itinerary; driver’s daily gratuity.

  • 7-day subway pass included covers 13 to 20 rides.

  • Four nights quality hotel accommodation based on student quad occupancy and adult double occupancy at Manhattan hotel.

  • Hotel porterage fees.

  • 4 continental breakfasts and 4 dinners

  • COA individual festival fees and Carnegie Hall admission for accompanying group members. Friends & family traveling separately to purchase own seats.

  • All admissions, taxes, and gratuities per itinerary

  • Harmony Tours director to manage your tour (they’re physically with us on the trip!)

  • All funds held in an FDIC-insured Client Trust Account until either (a) paid to a tour supplier or (b) tour concludes, AND travel/trip insurance.

This trip will include all of what you see above, and more, for $2000-$2500 per student. The final pricing depends greatly upon the number of people interested in attending, essentially, the more people we have attend, the cheaper the pricing could be. Thank you for your continued support of FRHS Choirs, and we look forward to having your student in choir next year!
